Top Ten Favorite Quotes from Books

Scratch out what I said last week about the movie TTT being the best one yet... this one tops my charts. I LOVE quotes. I even made a page on here dedicated with quotes (which I really need to update by the way). Even though silly/funny quotes are super cool, I have to say the super deep meaning/analogy ones tug my heart the most. You can use quotes as a guide to do what you want in life, and to motivate you to do things you might not normally do. Whatever a good quote does for you, we can all agree that they are amazing, right?! Onto the TTT!

1. "Freedom has a way of destroying things."
-Tally Youngblood, Specials by Scott Westerfeld
This quote is short and simple, but it packs a powerful punch. If we didn't have regulations, everything and everyone would do as they please. The world would be chaos.

2. "It is our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
-Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

This one is pretty self-explanatory. In the end it won't matter who can do what or who knows what, but the choices that they make will ultimately show what kind of person they are.

3. "The marks humans leave are too often scars."
-Hazel (I think?), The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Another insightful quote. TFiOS is one of my favorite books, and it's filled with a ton of other wonderful quotes, so I suggest checking it out :)

4. "It feels so separate, like I've touched something that's taken the color out of me. Or maybe I'm in color now and they're in black and white."
-Carmel Jones, Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

5. "We don't see things as they are, we seem them as we are."
-Anais Nin

Not sure if this one counts or not, because I don't believe it's from a book. I admire this quote because of its overpowering truth. People will look at things differently depending on who they are.

6. "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on."
-Robert Frost

Again, not sure if this one counts but who cares?! Robert Frost is my absolute favorite poet. His words are filled with wisdom and understanding. They can be depressing at times, but uplifting at other times.

7. "Love, it never dies. It never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang on to it. Love can make you immortal."
-Mia, If I Stay by Gayle Forman

8. "Life, he realized, was much like a song. In the beginning there is mystery, in the end there is confirmation, but it's in the middle where all the emotion resides to make the whole thing worthwhile."
-Steve, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

9. "A cut. That's what I felt. Words can cut, slice, like a razor."
-Delaney Maxwell, Fracture by Megan Miranda

10. "It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart."
-Katniss Everdeen, Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Top Ten Books You'd Like to See Made Into a Movie

Can I say that this is possibly the best TTT yet?! Let's get started!

1. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - Yes, yes, YES!!! This is self-explanatory! Some people dislike this book series, but you can't argue that it'd be amazing to see Tally's world come to life on the big screen! Skintennas, floating swimming pools, HOVERBOARDS?! And the good thing is, they are making it into a movie in the near future! Squeeee. Can't wait! Hopefully they don't screw up the cast!

2. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - This one is also self-explanatory, and is of course already set to be produced later this year!!! I can't wait until November 2013! :DD I really want to see how they portray Joanna without it being rated R, lol.

3. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green - They are also in the process of beginning to produce this! I CANNOT wait!! At first, I had thought to myself "They better not make this into a movie... it would ruin my portrayal of the one of my most favoritest books ever!!", but now I'm super stoked to see how it all plays out, especially for a certain Mr. Van Houten...!!

4. The Giver by Lois Lowry - I'm not sure if this is already a movie... but oh well! Although I'm not the biggest fan of this book, I still really want to see it on the big screen! :)

5. Choker by Elizabeth Woods - This book is intense and very very creepy. With all the hallucinations and the grotesque happenings in this book, I would really like to see how it turns out in a movie!

6. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher - This book's film adaptation is actually in the makes right now (With Selena Gomez rumored to play Hannah!). This book is heart-rendering and I would probably have to bring a box of tissues with me to the theaters!

7. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake - I just finished this book, and it was very horrifying and like, creeptastic. I would really really really love to see Anna in movie form!! That would be amazing. And I really want to see Carmel as well. :)

8. The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch - I loved the world building in this book, with all of its I-Am-Legend-y glory. I would really love to see Stephen and Jen's chemistry on-screen. Would be very excited if I heard this was becoming a movie! :)

9. Lark by Tracey Porter - This book/novella is very ... cold. Not scary, but very ... bitter. Bittersweet, and serene in a way. It wouldn't be the most action-packed movie, but I would still really love to see it in movie form.

10. Now and Zen by Linda Gerber - I kind of ran out of books to mention at this point, but I still somewhat want to see this on-screen. I want to see how they portray the MC Nori, in Japan. I would really like to see the Japanese culture in the movie!

Please comment below and share what you thought about this post! I also would love to see your picks!!

Top Ten Tips for New Book Bloggers

Well, this is embarrassing (I got that from Firefox lol). I am a new book blogger. So, because of that, I will not be participating in this week's TTT :(. I feel that would be wrong for me to do. But instead of this being a pointless post, I would like you fellow pro bloggers out there to leave a tip down below for me. Heaven knows I'm in dear need of it! Thanks so much lovelies, and happy reading!

Top Ten Tuesday (1)

I'm starting to try and participate in different memes on this blog, so this is my first time trying TTT!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and it features the top ten books that comes to your mind under a certain category announced each week. This week's category is:

Top Ten Books That Were Totally Deceiving

1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - When I first saw this book back in 2009 at Borders, I looked at the inside cover and thought that it sounded confusing and not that interesting. I finally discovered that this book was pure genius 3 years later.

2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - Picked this up from the library, not thinking much of it. After reading it, it became one of my favorite books ever.

3. So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld - Looked pretty good, but was entirely disappointed.

4. Harry Potter Books by J.K. Rowling - Sounded really stupid but when I opened them up, it was magical.

5. Paper Towns by John Green - The summary says that the two go on an adventure in the middle of the night, and yes, this does occur, but only for 80 pages. The rest of the book was about finding her, which was a bit upsetting and deceiving.

6. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher - Thought this was going to be "fluff", but turned out very heart-wrenching.

7. If I Stay by Gayle Forman - Started out great but then it became unbelievably depressing!

8. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare - "Most tragic love story in all of history"? Sorry, no. Just laughable.

9. Choker by Elizabeth Woods - Oh my gosh, I was so so deceived by the summary. The book was genius but I totally did not guess what was going to happen.

10. Miss American Pie by Margaret Sartor - Thought it would be interesting by the premise, but was very boring.

Hope I did okay! Happy Tuesday everyone, and happy reading!!
